1. Put Desktop files somewhere in Documents
2. Back up Documents and Downloads onto an HFS+ external hard drive
3. Back up external SSD with SuperDuper
4. Unplug printer, speakers from port
5. Unplug dock from port, plug keyboard and mouse into Mac mini
6. Stay wired to Internet
7. Double-click Installer in Applications.
Should say it is installing to Macintosh HD
It took about 9 hours to install
8. Continue to the automatic login
It retained all the set-up information, which was great.
9. Check for version on About Your Mac – Ventura 13.7.8
10. Check in System Settings that iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, all syncing, are toggled off.
11. System Settings – Desktop & Dock – Default web browser
Everything went smoothly.
